There is a letter posted online from the Superintendent of Schools, Sherry Elwood, for parents to review. It contains information about possible upcoming job action by teachers across the province and here in the Comox Valley starting Tuesday the 22nd of April. Please look at the bottom of this page to download it or go to the SD71 website to get it. Please note that school is in session on Tuesday the 22nd and will continue with normal instructional days going forward. If there is going to be any disruption to instruction, parents will be given advanced notice.
PAC has two fundraising activities running right now. Flower orders are due next Wednesday, April 23rd so they can be ordered to arrive before Mother's day. As well, each division is building a gift basket that will be part of the silent auction during the May 29th fun fair. If you have received a note from your child's teacher about purchasing a small gift basket item then please consider contributing. All the silent auction proceeds will come right back to students through the PAC. The proceeds from the flower sale and hot lunch also go right back to PAC to be distributed to students in the form of payment for buses, buying library books, providing funds for classroom expenses, etc.
